The start of Season Two brought along an overhaul of the Masteries system, providing players with even more strategic options for their champs. Some changes to the masteries included:

Offense Tree - New options for champions that specialize in either physical or magical damage.

Defensive Tree - New options for initiators who want to increase their movement speed, or gain increased gold from kills and assists.

Utility Tree - New options for players playing support champions who can now increase their passive gold gain and starting gold, so they can get the items they need faster.
